- + Free- and Open Source Software, free
Information and their impact on society
Linux, Open Source and
Free Software in my eyes opened up a brand new world to our
fingertips. Free information or information libre becomes more and
more popular through projects like Wikipedia, Creative Commons and of
course, Free Software.
Technology (through Free Software) started forming a movement of freedom
of information and accessibility which we can witness these days. I try
to be a part of it.
Privacy has become a big issue to me in the last years and I think
this has a lot to do with the fact that the access to information has become
ubiquitous for most of us. Information has to be accessible to everyone,
regardless of origin or social background. Yet private information should
stay private as long as I don't change my mind. (..trying to paraphrase the
german CCC motto: "Öffentliche Daten nutzen, private Daten
schützen")
- + Politics and activities in
politics
I've been interested in politics
(mostly social, ethical and environmental aspects) since a long time. Today
I'm politically active mostly through my activities in the Chaos Computer
Club Bremen as well as some Free Software related and political groups at
the university (see "Activities").
- + Music, Photography,
Movies
Concerning non-technology subjects, I'm
totally into music (don't ask me for a genre, I like pretty much everything
besides Volksmusik.. special interest: french music), photography (have a
look at my photolog mindestalter),
movies.
I started taking photos when I bought me my first digital camera in 2002
because it's great to see the pictures you've taken
live.
